Focus On Life - Week 3

From our leader:
As we arrive at week three we are going to be sticking with the miminalist's way of thinking and use the minimum to get the most!  Minimal color.  This week we will take out the color and capture a beautiful black and white photo of ourselves!  Yep!  This week introduce yourself to every one and capture a black and white of you!
------------------------------------------------

We are all beauty inside and out,  it is only our own eyes that are so critical of ourselves, at a drop of a hat we can name a half dozen features that we feel don't make the cut.  This week we will focus on what we feel so self conscious about, ourselves!
Show that beautiful face!
Oh my...show ourselves....I don't think any of us like that...but I decided if I want to pass on my stories I will have to endure times of "selfies"
So I took one....not bad...at 7:00 am, but a 10 I am not. LOL.
Enjoy and check the links below for more of us beautiful creatures!

  1. Great honest portrait! One thing about the selfie - it's what others see, and for the most part, they don't run away screaming, do they?

  2. Great photo. Like you I realize I need to be more in front of the camera just for my kids. I'm trying, but it still is uncomfortable.

    1. Thanks. Though after looking at the others...I guess I could have smiled more...may have to work on that....Even though we look at our selves in the mirror...It is always different when we see our selves in a picture. Especially that close...

    1. Yep, even though I think we did it last year....I don't think any of us are used to being in FRONT of the camera....

  4. I think you have a dreamy look on your face. I think most all of us endured week 3's prompt.

    1. Thanks Mary, yes we endured, we always do. I think that is what defines us as women...we endure because we are good at it!

  7. Beauty is subjective and overrated. We are all beautiful to the people who love us. You look peaceful and a touch disgusted at having to do this but I think most of us were not thrilled....

    1. Lol...yes Patty....I know that we are all beautiful..that is the way God created us. I think that since we don't SEE ourselves face to face very often it is hard to see the beauty. I think that may be why Sally posted this challenge...to really see ourselves....

  10. My mom passed away when I was 3 and sadly, most of my memories of her are from old photos, but when I looked at this picture of you something in it reminded me of her and it made me feel very comfortable. I want to thank you for that. I think you're beautiful! But it is a bit of a challenge to capture our own image w/out being too critical, isn't it?

    1. Thanks for the compliment Shel. I too can see my mom and my grandmother when I look at myself and since they have both passed, I think sometimes I look on with longing....but I do agree...I think we are our own biggest critic....

  11. I have been thinking of just this thing a lot and happened on these posts through Sally. I never take pictures of anything but jewelry and that is just not right! I might not always take the most flattering pictures but they are me and I know that I want to record that. I say that you are beautiful - all women are beautiful - and you need to remember that no one can wear your beauty like you! Enjoy the day! Erin

    1. I agree Erin. Even with technology as it is, if we don't take pictures of ourselves and those around us...how will the future generations know what we look like? Even with all the social media...we need to be very aware of keeping the precious memories. Thanks for the post...we are ALL beautiful. God doesn't make junk!

  12. Lovely picture and you're actually looking at the camera.. I always tend to look away so that I'm in profile.....

  13. Great photo! I kept thinking I'd take it another day when I didn't look so tired... that day didn't come, should have opted for your strategy
